Craig Evans - Bass Guitar

Craig performs vocals, electric bass guitar and piano. He was born in San Antonio, TX, and grew up loving music. He tongue in check says that his -

"Early music education drew from the highest cultural standards - TV theme songs and Looney Tunes."

The first song he remembers singing was the theme to the Beverly Hillbillies.

He’s performed music for the last 40 years with a number of groups, including:

• The Taters,
• The Super Sugar Beats, (with Brad Tucker)
• The Rock & Roll Jubilee (impersonating Elvis, Roy Orbison, and an Everly),
• Diamond Heist, and
• Others.

What Was the Rock & Roll Jubelee?

It was a stage show Craig Evans and Brad Tucker were part of for about 10 years. It was staged at The Cultural Arts Center, Glen Allen, VA. Craig and Brad came out in costume, paying tribute to the early Rock and Roll pioneers of Elvis (Craig), Buddy Holly (Brad), Roy Orbison (Craig), Ricky Nelson (Brad), and The Everly Brothers (Craig and Brad). Craig and Brad were backed by the 3 piece band, The Ashlandaires: who were:

• Drums – George Garrett;
• Guitar – Jim Wark; and
• String Bass – Brian Sulser

The theme was a 50’s era local radio station, WJKS (“Where Joy Kills Sorrow”), hosted by a character named Radio Ray Cadbury (B.J. Kocen). There were comedy bits in between acts, which gave Craig and Brad time to go backstage and change characters. The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen, VA

This is the facility where the Rock & Roll Jubilee show was presented for a number of years. It is located just inside the Richmond By-pass (I-295) in Glen Allen, about 8 miles south of Ashland, Va.
