This is a continuing series of EP releases by TortoiseClimbing Audio™.
Overview
This is a series of EPs of Nostalgic Love Songs. Target for 1st EP in this series is Summer of 2026. Songs on initial EPs are reworked from our back master tapes. As of April 2026 we are well along on various projects upgrading and augmenting previous recordings for public release. We will also be creating new recordings of other nostalgic songs. For more details click on the tentative working titles for planned EP collections:
Romantic Duets We previously recorded a number of love duets from movies and Broadway, from the 80's and 90's. We plan to replace their karaoke accompaniments, some vocals, and upgrade them. They will be released as part of additional EPs in the Nostalgic Love Songs series.
The beginning is David began singing in choirs in early elementary school choirs. On that foundation, some nearer term events contributed to creation of the series of EPs of Nostalgic Love Song. They include:
Around 1990, his friend Terry asked him to record duets with him. Turns out most were nostalgic love songs.
That led to David undertaking recording and privately releasing the album Solo Collection, in early 1993. (As part of that private release, he created TortoiseClimbing™.) That release was mostly nostalgic love songs.
Another critical occurance both enabled, and strongly influenced recording of initial songs, as well as many of the songs on the Solo Collection album. That was being introduced to the fantastic piano accompanist, Ms. Nancy Reid. (Previously she was accompanist to the pops chorus, Alexandria Singers that both Terry and David sang with for several seasons. For details about Ms. Nancy Reid see Nancy Reid.)
Solo Collection was followed by recording what was intended as a follow on private album (working title of Romantic Duets, not released). (That unreleased album is mostly nostalgic love duets from the 1980's and early 1990's.) Work on the Romantic Duets album was put on hold when David's mother asked him to record Hymns and Songs of My Mother (released in summer 2024). (While the hymns album is not romantic love songs, they are nostalgic, old traditional hymns.)
Then, as part of the Phase II work to complete Hymns and Songs of My Mother, we decided to make TortoiseClimbing™ a for-profit entity. That meant we needed to develop our Business Plan, laying out TortoiseClimbing™'s vision. An important component of Business Plans is articulating products you are going to market.
The process of articulating our vision for future products led us to realize that from the beginning, we were focused on Nostalgic Love Songs.
So we turned our focus to converting our original work into the quality demanded by our current mission, and acheived in the Hymns and Songs of My Mother. So we are upgrading the beginning songs, and those on the 1993 Solo Collection songs, to meet our high quality standard, for public releases.
As work progressed, our focus expanded to encompass upgrading our entire back catalogue of nostalgic love song recordings, now targeted for public release.
We plan to continue making recordings of Nostalgic Love Songs to publicly release as EPs.
FYI - Research since has found plenty of nostalgic love songs for continuing this series. Plus, there are numerous nostalgic Christmas songs we plan to embrace.
