Mini-EP: Welcome Home

This mini-EP contains 2 versions of this folk influenced Contemporary Christian song. While it is a very different style of song than the rest of the nostalgic, traditional hymns and songs on the album, Hymns and Songs of My Mother, mother loved this song. It was written for her sister's funeral by her sister's grandchild.

This song became a favorite of David's mother when Kathy wrote and performed this original Contemporary Christian song for the funeral of Kathy's grandmother. As a result, David's mother wanted this song included as part of the album Hymns and Songs of My Mother.

Because of its beauty and appeal as a CCM song, we decided to make 2 very different arrangements available separately as a Mini-EP. It is 6 minutes and 02 seconds long and includes:

1. The version recorded in 1989 by the author and composer. This closely conforms to Kathy's solo original, but adds:
   • A simple duet by David on refrains, and
   • Simple bass guitar.
2. The new arrangement created for the album, with:
   • Verses mostly solo, but including short duets with the composer and author,
   • Women's choruses, and
   • A more intricate and larger acoustic accompaniment with multiple instruments.
