Jeanette Creger
Soprano and Alto Vocal Harmonies:
Refrain of "Welcome Home"

Ms. Creger contributed vocal harmonies to the multi-part women's refrains for "Welcome Home." Her voice added a wonderful dimension of color.

Jeanette Creger received her Bachelor’s degree from Shenandoah Conservatory of Music in Music Education, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Her concentration was piano with a minor in cello and voice. She was in the top chorus as a freshman and played in the orchestra.

After graduating, she taught orchestra in The Chesterfield Public School System (just south of Richmond) from 1979 to 1984 and was a member of the VCU (Virginia Commonwealth University) Orchestra. At that time, she studied with Frantisek Smetana, the cello professor at VCU. She was also a member of The Richmond Philharmonic Orchestra.

In 1988 Mrs. Creger was instrumental in creation of the strings program in Hanover County Public Schools.

Hanover county is located just north of Henrico county, which abuts the north of Richmond. Patrick Henry was born on the family farm in Hanover county.

Starting with a handful of students at Liberty Middle School and eventually Patrick Henry High School, the program grew to an enrollment of well over 200 string students each year. Those orchestras consistently received Superior ratings at District Assessments and in competitions at:

The Liberty Middle and Patrick Henry High School Orchestras were often Grand Champion of both area festivals and national competitions.

In 2007, Mrs. Creger conducted The Patrick Henry Chamber Orchestra on a tour of Italy.

Mrs. Creger worked for The Virginia Music Camp and The Hanover All County Orchestra. She conducted:

Mrs. Creger has adjudicated many District Assessments of string orchestras around the state of Virginia.

Beginning in the Fall of 2012, Mrs. Creger began singing with the Central Virginia Masterworks Chorale.

In 2013, Mrs. Creger performed with The Richmond Chorale in Salzburg, Austria. Works included the Mozart Coronation Mass and the Mozart Requiem.

She has studied with soprano soloist, Jennifer Piazza-Pick, and with Chris Mooney, Mooney Vocal Arts.

Mrs. Creger performs in an original project, Funky Finger, compositions by John C. Creger. She also has played with Premiere Band for many years.

Mrs. Creger is currently a member of The Central Virginia Masterworks Chorale and performs in Premiere Duo with her husband John Creger that they formed out of Premiere Band during the Covid-19 pandemic.
