Don Kaufhold

As a teenager Mr. Kaufhold studied with Charlotte, NC organists Robert Stigall and John Palmer Smith. He obtained a Bachelor of Music from Appalachian State University, North Carolina, where he studied with Dr. H. Max Smith.

He obtained a Master of Liturgical Music from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, where he studied with Dr. Peter Marshall and Dr. Robert Grogan.

Mr. Kaufhold played piano on many of the hymns and songs in this collection recorded in Studio B at Bias Recording Studio under Producer Ms. Heidi Gerber-Salins.

(He also played electronic organ synthesizer keyboards and hammond organ on a number of hymns. All the synthesizer keyboard accompaniments and hammond organ were replaced in Phase II with real pipe organ.)

In spring of 2014 he became the HandBell Choir Director at First United Methodist Church of Charlotte, NC. He has since been succeeded by Mr. Tim Foskey as the Handbell and Chancel Choir director.

Mr. Kaufhold is a member of the Charlotte, NC chapter of the American Guild of Organists, and was on their Executive Board for the class of 2018-2019.

His full-time employment is with Accenture LLP, as a member of the anticorruption compliance team, where he manages the company’s internal due diligence function.
