Lindsey Smith


Mr. Smith was born in Lansing, Michigan and grew up nearby in Williamston.

He received a B.M. for Michigan State University in 1980, and a M.M. from University of Illinois in 1982.  Major teachers included:  Merrill Sherburn, Howard Buss, Curtis Olson, Robert Gray, Milt Stevens, John Huling and Joe Alessi.

Mr. Smith auditioned for and won a position with the United States Air Force Band based in Washington, DC. He served in this group from 1983 - 2009.  During his 26 year tenure with this organization, he performed as trombonist in the:

He performed worldwide as a member of the USAF Band and was a featured soloist and clinician, most recently in Taiwan.

He retired from the Air Force in 2009.
