Hiatus


Phase I ended several years after the death of David's mother, when a long pause/hiatus began (2004-2019). It occurred because of many competing things in the lives of both David and Ms. Heidi Gerber-Salins, Producer for Phase I.

Fortunately, during that pause/hiatus, important productive activities continued. David continued with his review and analyses of the Phase I audio files. He had recurring review sessions with Ms. Heidi Gerber-Salins, who remained available for brainstorming sessions and helped identify needed improvements. Those became the notes that informed future actions taken in Phase II.

Examples of needed improvements identified with Ms. Gerber-Salins included:

The notes developed with Ms. Gerber-Salins during this hiatus, provided valuable guidance when studio work was resumed as Phase II, and facilitated achieving the desired outstanding quality.

Based on the identification in the notes that "Welcome Home" would benefit from a stronger presentation, it was decided to create a more dramatic arrangement. That was done using a new multiple acoustic instrument accompaniment, plus a women's chorus of "angels" for the refrains. Both had to be written and recorded.
