Phase I ended several years after the death of David's mother, and a long pause/hiatus began (2004-2019). The causes were many competing things in the lives of both David and Ms. Heidi Gerber-Salins, Producer for Phase I.
However, even during that pause/hiatus, important productive activities continued. David continued reviews and analyses of the Phase I audio files and developing notes for needed improvements. He had recurring review sessions with Ms. Heidi Gerber-Salins, who remained available for brainstorming sessions and helped sharpen his analyses, delineating needed improvements. The resulting final notes from those efforts informed many of the future actions taken in Phase II.
Examples of needed improvements identified with Ms. Gerber-Salins included:
(All electronic keyboard accompaniments plus Hammond Organ were replaced in Phase II with real pipe organ, recorded on-location at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church in Ashland, Virginia on their Scribner-Keeble Memorial Pipe Organ by SlippedDisc recording studio. The church is located on the campus of Randolph Macon College in Ashland, VA.)
The notes developed with Ms. Gerber-Salins during this hiatus, provided valuable guidance when studio work resumed as Phase II, and magnificantly facilitated achieving the desired outstanding quality.
